You have enough to think about before your wedding day. Here are answers to the most common makeup questions we get, to help you let go of the wondering and get back to the day dreaming.
WEDDING MAKEUP FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
All our makeup services, for the bride and bridal party, include: Professional and durable makeup application with custom-blended foundation, false lashes (strip, cluster, half), and a small touch-up kit. Body glow down the neckline and chest is included as well, based on dress cut.
-
Product options are always evolving, and so our makeup kits do, too. There are some ongoing appearances: MAC, Dior, Urban Decay, Tarte, Fenty and more. Our makeup artists might come across a new product or formula they love, and sometimes even a drugstore brand is a sleeper hit. Most kits contain professional-grade classics not common on retail shelves, like Cinema Secrets or Graftobian. The key is this: what our makeup artists choose to stock their kits with is based on quality and performance. The results are what matters.
-
Most foundations these days are silicone-based, or have a silicone emulsified formula. Silicone repels water, blends seamlessly, and absorbs into the skin for a finish that holds up. We also prep the eyes with primer so your eye makeup stays put through the ceremony, the reception, and the after-party. Skin still sweats, and no cosmetic is going to stop that, but shine control is never more than a blot and a powder away. Some of our brides have worn their makeup to the pool the next morning. We do not recommend it. But we respect it.
-
Airbrush makeup is an application method. Very thin, liquid makeup is sprayed through an airbrush gun from compressed air. The foundation is either formulated specifically for airbrush use, or a traditional foundation thinned with a mixing medium so it can travel through the gun. You have probably heard that airbrush is the gold standard for Las Vegas summers. Allow us to interrupt that rumor; it’s not. The formula of the product used matters much more than how it is applied.
-
Yes, airbrush is one of our services. That said, it is not the right fit for every skin type, and we would never treat it like it is. We use both airbrush and hand application depending on what each client needs and what they want from their final results.
-
Your artists will arrive fully stocked with everything they need. You may want to purchase a lip color in advance if you have a specific, bold-lip moment in mind, or if you want a full tube for reapplication later in the day. As professional makeup artists, we are responsible for the safety and sanitation of our kits. Although we would love to help you feel as comfortable as possible for your service, it exposes us to liability, as we cannot confidently state that we have had full sanitary control of the products we applied. Maintaining a sanitary kit is essential, and a responsibility we take very seriously. Additionally, the artists are very familiar with what’s in their kit; asking them to work with a new product for the first time can create unintended challenges. If using your own products is a key concern of yours, please speak with our Client Concierge about it prior to finalizing your reservation.
WEDDING HAIR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
All hair services include professional hairstyling based on your photos, placement of any day-use extension you provide (such as clip-ins or halo), as well as secure placement of accessories such as a veil, tiara, barrette, or comb.
-
Our stylists are experienced at building styles that last. We regularly hear from brides who wore their hair for two days after the wedding. Upstyles tend to hold longer than down styles because the pins do a lot of the work. That said, we cannot out-engineer the weather. Wind, rain, and heat will do what they do. If your wedding is in spring or late summer monsoon season, an updo or pinned style is going to be your most reliable option. If your hair falls flat fast, it’s often not layered, too silky, or very heavy. Check out our blog on how to help us help you have the hair of your dreams all day long.
-
Clean, dry, and not flat-ironed. It’s OK if you look like a fuzzy Q-tip. You’re welcome to blow out the front if you know how you like your fringe to lay, or have a stubborn calic that needs to be got out ahead of time. As for cleanliness, fresh hair really is the way to go. Before we had diverse product options, dirty hair was often suggested as a way to create grit and hold. We have what we need now to do that ourselves, and it’s better for your stylist to create the right amount of grit than to fight with hair that has too much product in it. It will stick to the irons and make your curls fall fast. Clean, dry hair. Maybe a blow out if you want. No product. No flat iron.
-
First, check with the Client Concierge to confirm it actually is too short. You may be surprised to find out it’s exactly the right length. However, if you do need additional length, clip-in extensions are your answer. We would go so far as to say: If you are wearing all or part of your hair down, you probably need clip-ins. They are the best option if you want length or fullness for a single event, and once you have them, you have them for next time too. We love Bellami and recommend it to brides going this route. Some styles simply cannot be built without extra hair, so it’s a good idea to have a set on hand or ask us in advance.
-
Yes, we work with sewn-in, locs, I-tips, beaded, and most other types. A few things to keep in mind: your style may need to be adjusted to keep the tracks hidden, the hair must be 100% human to be curled safely, and if you just want extra length or fullness for the day, clip-ins are the easier call.
-
We love working with natural curl. If you are not chemically straightened, just give us a heads up when you book. We often work with hair that has already been prepped and just needs pinning or shaping. We will always be straight with you about what we can and cannot do, and if a particular style is outside our wheelhouse, we will tell you and help point you in the right direction.
GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
As soon as you have your date and time locked in. We book as far as 18 months out and Las Vegas fills up fast. If you are working with a shorter timeline, reach out anyway. We will do what we can to make it work.
-
Start by filling out our contact form. That gives us what we need to confirm availability and put together a customized proposal. From there, you will hear back from us quickly with all the details. If everything looks good, let us know, and we will send over a contract and retainer request. Once we have both back, you will get a written confirmation for your records.
-
That depends on your party and your needs, which is exactly why we build every timeline individually. You will see your specific timeframe in your reservation agreement. As a general rule, we allow 30 minutes per service with an additional hour of buffer built in for the unexpected.
-
The number of hair stylists or makeup artists servicing your party depends greatly on a number of factors. The size of the bridal party, the time of the ceremony, and availability for your wedding date at the time you secure your reservation all become factors that influence the team we send. Booking multiple packages means booking multiple teams as well. Ultimately, our Client Concierge will take all the information specific to your wedding day into consideration when assigning the team for your bridal party.
-
Yes, of course. We are happy to book a preview before you commit, so you can be confident before signing. That said, we cannot hold a wedding date without a signed reservation. If your date gets booked before your preview appointment, we will reach out to let you know.
-
We suggest booking your preview at the same time you reserve your wedding date, and scheduling it 30 to 60 days before the wedding. That window keeps things close enough that your accessories will mostly be on hand, and if the timing lines up, you can knock out your final dress fitting the same day. While we will book you preview whenever you would like to have it (based on availability), it’s worth keeping in mind that the farther out your preview is, the less effective it becomes. The greater the distance between your preview and your wedding day, the more likely things are to change, such as your final vision, hair accessories, or even plans. An effective preview is for seeing your inspo photos of another person come to life on you, and adjust accordingly. If you or your inspo changes - which is highly likely to happen with a long time to go between your preview and your wedding - the preview will likely not be as much of an effective experience as it could be.
-
We only book previews with the artists assigned to your wedding. We would never pair you with someone different. The one variable we cannot fully control is life. Artists booked very far out occasionally have circumstances change. That is one more reason we recommend keeping your preview within 60 days of your wedding date. If, against our best efforts, your preview hairstylist or makeup artist has to be changed, we do our best to transfer any images or notes to the provider servicing your wedding.
-
Our cancellation policy works in three time segments. Once you are booked and your non-refundable retainer has been submitted, you may cancel at any time up to 60 days before your wedding. You will not be charged any additional fees, however, your retainer is non-refundable. Between 60-30 days prior to your wedding, any services canceled are subject to a 50% charge. At 30 days, any cancellations are subject to the full charge of the reservation as contracted.

In the more than 15 years of our company history, we have canceled a bride two times, and two times only. The first was during the pan*emic. Shortly after the quarantine was lifted, an artist was due for a wedding and tested positive an hour before she was leaving for the appointment. At the time, our policy was to allow each artist to decide if she was willing to work or not - times were still very uncertain and many had small children at home - and so we did not have many artists to fill in for her. We offered the bride the option of still receiving services with the artist in a mask, and she declined.
The second time was when we received communication that a bride had been abusive towards the coordinator she was working with. It had been going on for some time, and once things escalated further, the planner let us know that she would be stepping away and canceling her contract with the bride. At that time, we had to choose between risking our reputation by canceling or knowingly putting our team in harm's way. We chose our team's safety. We will every time.
Booking a team means booking the full force of multiple wedding hair stylists and makeup artists. If there is an emergency, and life still exists so that does happen, we will handle it. We always have. If the day ever comes when we can’t, we will do our part to make it right.
